Dolmen Underwriting was established to provide Irish insurance brokers with specialist wholesale solutions that are flexible, responsive, and built around real market needs.
Originally founded within Dolmen Insurance Brokers in 2006, our underwriting division was created to give brokers access to bespoke schemes and niche products that were difficult to place in the open market. Today, we support more than 300 brokers across Ireland with a growing portfolio of specialist underwriting facilities.
What began with a single Campervan facility has evolved into a diverse underwriting platform offering nearly 20 specialist products — with more in development.
A Strong Foundation Since 1998
Dolmen Insurance Brokers Ltd was established in 1998 with a simple goal — provide insurance solutions built on trust and long-term relationships.
Key milestones in our underwriting journey include:
- 2000 – Launch of our bespoke Campervan wholesale facility
- 2006 – Creation of Dolmen Underwriting as a dedicated wholesale platform
- Ongoing – Expansion into specialist property, liability, cyber, and commercial schemes
Our underwriting division now operates as a distinct specialist section within Dolmen, focused exclusively on supporting brokers with wholesale and delegated authority products.
